A Grand and colourful Pongal celebration was celebrated in our school on 13.01.2016 by the management staff and students. Our guests of honour was Smt.Selvi ravi, Counselor, Kalinjur and Sri.A.R.Rajendran, Prop.,D.V.P. Bakery & Incharge of Vidya Bharathi, Vellore Vibhag. Sri.C.Lickmichand Jain, Secretary, B.M.D Jain school, Vellore, Sri.M.Sudarshan Kumar Jain,Trustee, B.M.D Jain school, Vellore, presided over the celebration. Students celebrated Samathuva Heritage Pongal enthusiastically. The day started with a poojai to Lord Sun. Bullock carts were arranged describing the speciality of Pongal in which our students participated and experienced a village environmentn followed by welcome address and honouring of Guests took place. A variety of traditional Dances were performed by the students followed by Uri Adithal. The celebration was wonderful, all the students and staff enjoyed happily. Rangoli Competition was conducted for the students. Our staff cooked pongal in our school and it was distributed to all.
A special Natupura kalainjargal(National Award Winners) cultural show by Sukra Academy was performed in our school. The various dance like periya kombu attam, phada moongil attam, silla attam, mayil attam, jaatai kol attam, oyil attam and so on. Our traditional dances were brought into live by the dancers. Parents, Students, Staff enjoyed the live dance.
